At year’s end, a wonderful time to browse Letters of Note and Lists of Note, and to reconsider how we value the post office. Perhaps as a proxy for how we have changed the way we have come to regard our relationships in general. (I would say that we don’t value them less, only differently.) One of my favorite books picked up this year, Words in Air, the letters between Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell. Here’s a lovely description of it.
